We are excited to announce that we have signed an exclusive deal with Lejos, one of Finland’s most popular food brands and distributors. The move will see thousands of Ice Kitchen lollies receive a warm reception from Finland’s thriving foodie market. Finland is encountering what food critics now call a ‘silent food revolution’, with chefs focusing on seasonal, local Finish ingredients and, of course, recipes dominated by natural products. This might be the perfect audience for Ice Kitchen’s lollies, especially since Finns really love their frozen treats. Despite the cold winters the population of 5.4 million consumes 70 million litres of ice cream yearly!
Launching from June 2018, three of Ice Kitchen’s most popular impulse lollies will be sold across 150 KESKO stores nationwide. Kesko is one of Finland’s biggest food retailers, with hundreds of stores across the country, which means that our Ice Lollies will reach some of the remotest parts of the country.
The Finnish deal marks the latest step in our international expansion following our successful partnerships in Netherlands, Belgium, and Ireland.
Cesar Roden, co-founder of Ice Kitchen, said:
“This is a great opportunity for us to get the Ice Kitchen brand the international recognition it deserves. However, the journey wasn’t easy. Our production time left little room for error and size of the order meant our dedicated team was pushed to the max. But in the end, we were able to prove that despite being a small company, the capacity was there. We’re confident that this first step into the Nordic market will be the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Ice Kitchen.”
